You probably know someone who is now getting Clear Aligners Therapy (CAT), as it is becoming more and more popular for orthodontic purposes. If you also need orthodontic treatment, you have some questions about the options.

At ODS Aligners, we offer comprehensive clear aligners therapy to patients who qualify for the treatment. Every stage of the process is explained to them before it begins.

Let's begin by defining CAT. To gently move teeth to their new positions, CAT employs a series of transparent, acrylic aligners that must be worn for a predetermined amount of time. Straightening devices can be easily removed and worn comfortably. However, how do they go about moving the teeth?

How do clear aligners work?
To conclude, the targeted and controlled pressure employed by your aligners will lead the teeth into their ideal positions. All of your teeth will be in the desired positions when your treatment is complete because each set of ODS aligners was carefully created to effect the desired change.

One key difference in the way teeth is shifted by braces and aligners is substantial. Using hooks and wires, braces create a pull force to move teeth. However, with aligners, a push force gently moves the teeth. Aligners can move teeth into their new positions in just 24 hours, but that doesn't mean it's time to move on to the next set of braces just yet.

The material that surrounds the tooth roots is called cementum. This cementum is attached to the dental cavity because of the soft ligament. This tissue acts as a foundation, holding the teeth in their sockets. Your teeth must be properly pushed through the jawbone for the gum to create the required motion. Time is needed for the gums and other tissues to adjust to the new motion, for the tissue to grow very used to it, and for the bone to develop. As a result, you must wear each set of aligners for at least seven days before switching to the following set.

You may feel the ligament expand on one end of the tooth's base and compress on the other when you bite down on a tooth. Two new types of bone cells are created as a result of this technique. While new bone produces a new bone matrix when a ligament is extended, cells destroy the bone on that end when a ligament is compressed. The PDL is therefore not yet ready to maintain the motion's position after it has been started. The tissue needs time to grow to the new motion and create the bone, and the gum as well as other tissues need time to adapt to it. This is why you need to wear each pair of aligners for at least seven days

In conclusion
This method is used by your dentist to gradually shift your teeth to the right places by gently moving them along the way. Your dentist will create a completely customized treatment plan using this method. The clear aligners will use a precisely controlled level of force on the teeth to shift them into the best positions, which is more pleasant and attractive than traditional braces. You don't need to visit the dentist every few weeks to have your wires adjusted; you can simply move on to the next set of aligners as advised.
